Brandon grew up on a dairy farm in Brainerd, MN where he raised chickens, ducks and rabbits as a child.  When he graduated college he moved to Minneapolis, which was a long way from the farm. He and Cindy were married in 1999 and built their first home in Blaine shortly after getting married.  Then they built there second home in Brooklyn Park, MN three years later.  This is where they lived while they had their 4 children.  In 2010, they moved to Delano while building there new home in Greefield.  Then finally in May of 2011, they moved into their new home in Greenfield, MN.

Cindy made the big mistake of telling Brandon he needed a hobby after living in Minneapolis for 10 years. This is when Brandon decided to start raising the Gouldian Finches. Then 5 years later Cindy was over-welmed with 100 finches, 50 ducks, 30 chickens, rabbits that don't stop reproducing and 6 beautiful miniature horses. Boy does she regret the recommendation of Brandon needing a hobby!!

Our Family

This hobby farm is the best thing our family every did!!!  Our family and friends do think we are crazy for having so many animals but we absolutely love it.  It is something the entire family can do and have fun doing it.  We are very excited for spring that is for sure.  We all have our different favorites.. Mom's is with no doubt our Teacup Pigs.  Chase's favorite animals are for sure the ducks.  Carter loves the chickens. Kylee's favorite is with no doubt her horse "Star"   Our little Kenzee is in love with our our 3 cats (Viking, Mittens and Storm).  She cannot wait until we have kittens next spring!

We have had a couple babies already this year.  Our first born to the farm was a duck.  We named him Chuck.  Ironically, Kylee's rabbit, Midnight, got out of her pen and had her first baby.  The funny thing is she dug a hole right under the duck nest!  We had two different babies from 2 different animals all in the same spot on our 4.5 acres.

Next spring we will have a baby foal out of our mare Star.  We will have more ducklings and baby chicks than we know what do with.  We will have baby goats!  We are excited as this type of goat typically has twins or triplets each time.  Huh, we are excited to have triplets again only this time they will live in the barn!!

This is Aunt Patti and her boyfriend Josh.  Patti has been a second mother to the four kids.  She has had a very important role in the kids' life.  She has helped raise them and each kid has a very special bond with her.  We are not sure what we would do with out Patti as she has been our savior.
