Reference Sires
We selected each of our horses very carfully.  The pedigree was very important to us and we are huge, huge fans of Boone's Little Buckeroo and FWF Little Blue Boy bloodlines.  Each of our horses have either Buckeroo or FWF Little Blue Boy in them.  Most have Buckeroo in them several times throughout their pedigree.  We breed for head, form and personality!!  The information below are some of the important legends that we have in our bloodline.  We want to point out their successes and their beauty!

Boone's Little Buckeroo

BOONES LITTLE BUCKEROO is one of those Legends that will continue to live on in the Miniature Horse World FOREVER. He poses the look of what every Miniature Horse Breeder wants in their herd and for their Stallion to pass on to each and every foal just as “Buckeroo” does. They say that there isn’t the “perfect” horse but Buckeroo certainly comes close.

He has the “Look at me!” attitude which is important when showing your horses. His confirmation will show that he has a level top line along with having a long graceful neck. He has a rich Buckskin color. And to top it all off – he isn’t just a pretty horse to look at – he also has natural athletic ability as well. When he was shown for the first time as a five year old in 1983 he took National Grand Champion Stallion and National Champion in the Color Class for Stallions. He has placed 4 times as National Champion Get of Sire. Little King Farm retired Buckeroo from their breeding program in 2008 at the age of 30; although on the AMHA Studbook Online since then they are still using him on a limited basis. As of August 2010 Buckeroo has Sired 383 foals therefore, he is found in many Pedigrees. Many of Buckeroo’s offspring have taken Grand Championships in Halter and many have taken Championships because of their athletic ability in Driving.

GOLD MELODY BOY

Gold Melody Boy (1962-1983) was known for his balance, proportion and great movement.” per Robin Eberth (Miniature Horse World, April/May 2007, page 55). Per Pat Elder, author of OUTSTANDING MINIATURE HORSE STALLIONS PAST & PRESENT, “The offspring of this great stallion are still producing horses with the “Gold Melody Boy look” of Arabian type with balance and elegance.” He was actually a Shetland that went on to Sire a Dynasty of Miniature Horses that are found in many Pedigrees today as his progeny include such greats as ROAN RANGER, WITTMAACKS MICKEY MOUSE, BOONES LITTLE BUCKEROO, CIRCLE S BILL BAILEY, AF GOLDEN OPPORTUNITY, DIPPERS DUFFY, JOHNSTONS GOLD BAR, JOHNSTONS GOLD BOY, JOHNSTONS SUPER CHARGER, PLEASANT MEADOWS BUCKS BAY BLUE, SG LITTLE BLUE DIPPER, SIDS REBEL, SWEETWATERS LITTLE MOHAWK, CLOVERDOWNS RANGER BLUE, and LITTLE KINGS BUCK ON BROADWAY.

The majority of his off spring were never shown but their progeny have excelled in the Show Ring. Both of his parents were Shetlands, his Sire being Lightning Bug and his Dam, Ginns Melody, were bred by William Dalton of Peaceful Valley Ranch in Hendersonville, North Carolina. During the 1960’s & 1970’s William Dalton and his friend, J. C. Williams of the Dell Tera Farm, bred him to their Mares. In 1972 GOLD MELODY BOY was sold to Lloyd & Zola Johnston who bred him along with the owners of WITTMAACKS MICKEY MOUSE and they did a lot of line breeding and cross breeding to concentrate the genetic prepotency of this wonderful Stallion. As a result of breeding him to his daughters and his sons to his daughter, this line has become the most recognizable lines in the Miniature Horse World today. He only Sired 34 registered of which twenty-six were Daughters. He was later sold to Flying W Farms where GOLD MELODY BOY died in a stable fire in 1983, and where he was buried.
